madasrabbitsHis home is earth. But not exactly the Earth we know. For the most part, it's the same. Seven continents, growing population, all that fun stuff. The big differences lie in the presence of magic. It doesn't play the most extreme role in life, but it does help at times. There are a few more dangers, throwing magic into the cause, but that's more on a person to person basis. Everyone on earth is capable of learning some magic. Spoke word, typically to do with the right focus and a rhyme to do with what you want. Of course, training includes being as clear about the goal as possible. Things can go wrong with those spells, and they have. Some minor, people who might not deserve fame gaining it with a simple 'I want this because I think I deserve this' kind of thing, to life changing.
There are people born with magic who are rare, though. Born magic is typically stronger than spells that can be cast, and can be learned to be had as young as four years old. They aren't outright called out for their skills, if anything treated by others in a more uncomfortable way once found to be a natural user of magic. Basically treated like a race of their own. Stereotyped as being lazy, using their abilities for everything, and tempermental. The last one can easily be true, as those with natural magic have a more active personality, as it were. (Ronnie being as nervous and apologetic as a defensive mechanism as he is, for example)
Each natural born user of magic has the ability to turn into an animal, as well. Certain locations might have names for it. Ronnies town, for example, just happens to use Wonderlanders since the known natural users are himself, Frederick Ormus, who turns into a Dormouse, Charles Bermouth, turning into a tabby cat and known for actively changing his hair color.
